Mirror's Edge: Catalyst - 10 Huge New Details You Need To Know About
4. No Limits To Explore
One of the biggest draws for the reboot is the fact players will now get the chance to free-roam as Faith. The first Mirror's Edge was always fun, but its unique environment was always restrained - putting the player on a linear path unable to explore and take in the sites and sounds of DICE's environment. Actually getting the chance to marvel at the spectacle that is the City of Glass is bound to resonate with players, but this may prove to be a double-edged sword come its release. An open world is only as good as its characters and content, and a desolate metropolis devoid of life isn't something players will want to invest their own time in. We've heard very little of side missions and bonus content to complete Catalyst's single player experience, but no doubt DICE are keeping things under wraps until the appropriate time to unveil them presents itself. Open worlds like Arkham Knight's Gotham City have shown that titles need to really invest in their environments - only time will tell if Mirror's Edge heeds this call.
