Mirror's Edge Catalyst: 10 Reasons It's A Huge Disappointment

7. Loading Times Are Too Long

Much of Catalyst's gameplay is focused on trial and error, where the player will die and have to replay the same segment a few times to figure things out. This would be all well and good, were it not for the infuriatingly long loading times of around 20 seconds each time you die or fail a section of the game.

This length of loading isn't a problem in-between missions, but if you keep failing a combat sequence again and again, it can be massively irritating as it simply wastes your own time and doesn't allow the player to dive straight back into the action.

It also doesn't help that some of the game's checkpoints aren't very forgiving: there's one segment later on in the game that forces you to perform the same two-minute sequence every time you fail, which can add up to a ton of wasted time if you screw it up a lot (which you probably will).
