Mirror's Edge Catalyst: 10 Reasons It's A Huge Disappointment

6. Graphics Are A Mixed Bag

Now, nobody could call Catalyst an ugly game, but at the same time, its graphical fidelity is all over the place.

The open-world expanse looks solid from above and some of the texture work is good, but other aspects stand out as embarrassingly poor, especially facial textures and animations of the various NPC characters scattered around the map.

There are times when the game really doesn't look like a current-gen console game and could potentially pass for a late-era PS3 or Xbox 360 title. The PC version does fare a lot better, in fairness, but still, for a game from EA and DICE, it really feels like it should be pushing things much further in terms of visual grandeur.
