Modern Warfare 4: 10 Things We Want

7. Fixed Strike Force

We have huge admiration for Treyarch adding these Strike Force missions into Black Ops 2, as they create a branching narrative that is quite unlike anything Call of Duty has dealt with before. It adds a wealth of replayability to a single-player mode we would otherwise probably not touch again, with multiple outcomes and permanent deaths of notable characters actually engaging us more viscerally in the narrative rather than making us passive participles who simply "follow" other characters, almost as if on-rails. While ambitious, there are a few issues with its execution in Black Ops 2; the ally AI is pretty awful, meaning that you have to hold their hand right through to the end, and they are not intuitive in the slightest. Also, the controls to command the battlefield could use some work, but thankfully, this is all stuff that isn't beyond fixing; with a little more attention paid, Infinity Ward could build on this solid framework and make it a bit more accessible.
