Monster Hunter: World - 12 Incredibly Helpful Secrets You Need To Know
3. Palico Quests & Bonus Weapons
Looking as cute as they do, you'd actually be remiss for assuming the Palico cat-people aren't as integral to your hunt as a weapon or set of armour.
To amp up their tactility in a quest, seek out the cat paw print "Doodles" around any level (they show up the same way as monster tracks). After interacting with a few of these in succession, you'll earn an audience with the Grimalkynes (essentially native versions of the more trained and "civilised" Palicoes you carry around).
From here you'll be given a quest (per region) to "prove yourself", resulting in the tribe teaching your palico a particular skill, or unlocking a new weapon. These range from being able to converse with smaller creatures (meaning your palico can come riding into battle atop a Jagras), to valuable armaments like the Plunderblade, that can steal monster parts mid-fight from enemies.
