Monster Hunter World: Ranking Every Weapon From Worst To Best

7. Gunlance

Odogaron Monster Hunter
Capcom

Pros: Huge reach, shell damage is unblockable

Cons: Awful mobility, shell attacks eat sharpness

The lance, only with considerably more firepower (literally), thanks to a built-in cannon that ejects explosive shells from its tip.

As you can imagine, the inclusion of a gun barrel makes for an even more cumbersome weapon than its ordinary counterpart, but bear in mind that each shell fired results in unblockable damage. The perfect remedy for monsters that appear as if they've been dipped in concrete.

The downside to this strength is that using the Gunlance's secret weapon eats through weapon sharpness and for a weapon type that struggles to move out of harms way, you'll want to thoroughly consider and space out your shots, or else you'll be stuck poking that Anjanath with nothing but a nub.
