6. The Armageddon Pyramid Is Back
Just when things looked like they couldn't get more epic, it's revealed the final showdown will take place at the peak of Argus' Pyramid.
This ziggurat, which debuted in Mortal Kombat Armageddon, was built by an Elder God to serve as the ultimate battleground for kombatants. The gods worried the tournament could lead to the realms' collapse and so, created the pyramid as a fail-safe.
Even though MK Armageddon was disappointing, the prologue which shows the fighters sprinting to the top of this structure, is one of the coolest moments in the franchise.
Because the Argus Pyramid hasn't appeared in over a decade, it was awesome how the developers found a way to implement it into MK1's finale.
