Mortal Kombat 1: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

19. Sindel

Sindel's appearance in MK11 may have been brief, but the Outworld empress left a massive impact.

With that said, the silver-streaked siren plays an even greater role in MK1, taking centerstage in the overarching narrative. Because the character has never been fleshed out this thoroughly, Sindel fans should be overjoyed.

That's why it's annoying to learn how specific Sindel's move-set is. Although she still dispenses hair-whips and deafening screams, her Specials mainly centre around boosting her Kameos. Unless players have a good handle on this mechanic, these Specials are wasted.

Even though Sindel's levitation skills have assisted her in previous instalments, it's a detriment this time around, since MK1 puts so much focus on aerial attacks and anti-air moves. With so many methods to strike the enemy from above, using Levitation will turn Sindel into a sitting duck (or a flying one).

But it's not all bad. Her base moves are a cinch to learn and her kombos are easy to implement. Two kombos rely on pressing the same button repeatedly, making Sindel a great choice for beginners.
