Mortal Kombat Movie: Every Character Confirmed So Far

Another member of the Special Forces, Jax Briggs is Sonya's comrade most identifiable with his metallic T800-crushing arms. How he receives these arms has changed over the course of the franchise's history, and so he gets them in a new way in the trailer at the hands of Lin Kuei ninja Sub-Zero.

An axe to grind there is, between Jax and Sub-Zero; the latter's freezing hands are responsible for the former's use of metal biceps. Things are probably cold between them, so Jax joins the queue of those wishing revenge upon Bi Han behind Scorpion. Whether this will impact his loyalty to the Special Forces and Sonya is not clear, or if he leaves to pursue a personal vendetta, but it would make sense and could lead to an interesting dynamic.

Between games X and 11, Jax left the Special Forces and had a daughter in the form of Jacqui Briggs. It's probable that she won't appear as this is a movie reboot, but if it's successful it's a likely outcome that Jacqui and Jax will fight together eventually somewhere down the line.
