The actual controls of the game have been left largely the same, with the crucial exception of passing. 2K will now incorporate three dedicated pass buttons, allowing for a far greater variety of options when swinging the ball around the floor. Should you decide a bounce pass is absolutely crucial in a certain scenario, this should be far easier to achieve now - and the same goes for lobbed passes, alley-oops and flashy moves. Of all the new changes to gameplay in this list, this is the one I'm most skeptical about. Passing is such an important part of basketball's fabric, it would perhaps have been better to allow for slightly less manual control over the manner of each ball movement - maintaining the fluidity of the game. It remains to be seen whether 2K have struck the correct balance of control and ease with this particular feature, but if they get it right, it could prove to be a massive improvement.
