1. New Physics-Driven Collision System
Every year, the wishlist of just about every 2K fan include a call for improved player collisions. Getting stuck in animations is one of the most frustrating niggles about the franchise, taking away a huge sense of control and decision-making (particularly when playing defence; often players are sucked into an unwanted contest for the ball, allowing the opposing player to easily drive past or hurl up an uncannily successful jump shot). The consistent discontent over this aspect of the series means that 2K16's new collision system is the most important improvement by far. The strength of players is now taken into account, meaning that powerhouses such as LeBron James can bowl off-balance defenders to the floor when charging to the rim. Opponents will tussle realistically for rebounds, lean into one another when tussling for rebounds, and collide with more regularity. The developers claim that this will give the game a "harder" edge, not in terms of difficulty, but in a more visceral, physical sense.
