Why it makes sense:
The Clippers have a lot of big contracts and it'll be interesting to see how the team looks once it actually hits the court. One trade to make before the season is getting rid of Austin Rivers' contract and creating some cap space in the process.
Rivers will not help the Atlanta Hawks enough to make the pick worthless and the Clippers really need a talented player that'll provide them with four years of his services for a relatively low price.
