NBA 2K19: 7 Rumours You Need To Know
7. Less Emphasis On VC
One thing we do know is that 2K must put less emphasis on Virtual Currency in-game. It was a total pain in 2K18 to see highly-priced items and constant prompts for real money rather than going through the grind to earn. This is something the devs need to sort before fans feel they're being fleeced.
In one YouTube video from Agent 00, the host discussed the problems with heavy VC presence in the series and said he hopes that 2K start treating the community less like customers and more like gamers. He also said that there's a fair chance they'll scale back on VC purchasables; this probably means making them cheaper so there's less pressure to part with actual cash.
Let's face it, this is necessary.
Key MyCareer upgrades being hidden behind a restrictive paywall (unless one fancies slogging it for endless hours) is a cheap tactic from the development team. 2K would be doing everyone a favour by lessening the workload it takes to get the best items in-game.
