NBA 2K19: 8 New Features You Need To Know

1. Sweeping Improvements To MyTeam

2K18's MyTeam mode had some setbacks. 2K drip-fed content like they were scared for fans to have it, and that led to boredom in between pack releases. In 2K19, they'll be releasing packs more frequently, and it won't take players as long to pull the best ones. A quicker pace all-round then.

Some things have been removed completely from the lineup. Both Pack & Playoffs and Supermax have been ditched, replaced by the brand-new MyTeam Unlimited and Triple Threat modes. In the former, gamers will take their best 13 players online for battles against similarly strong rosters. Manage a 12-0 winning streak and you'll be rewarded with an exclusive card.

Triple Threat is a three-on-three (single player) mode that has everyone competing against all 30 NBA teams. Which team you face is randomised by dropping a ball down a pachinko style machine front. There will be an online mode for those who want to be competitive against others.

2K have obviously been paying attention to how often EA update their Ultimate Team modes in FIFA and Madden. They're about to become a bit more hands-on with MyTeam, and that can only be a good thing for the series. They've been lagging behind on this front for far too long.
