Through various struggles, star players, and even scandals, the Phoenix Suns have varied in terms of success levels over the years. They've proven they're capable of making it far in the league, as they made it to the finals in 1976 opposite eventual winners, the Boston Celtics, however, they've only fallen down the pecking order since.
No longer are we sitting in the golden eras of Kevin Johnson, Charles Barkley, or Steve Nash, but rather an era where the Suns are merely just there. Not necessarily doing anything truly spectacular, but still putting in the effort that's needed to survive. After all, they still managed to earn a 75 overall rating, the same rating they received for NBA 2K20. It's possible that Devin Booker being in the 2020 All-Star game had a huge impact on this, considering it marked the first time in eight years a Suns player made the game.
Regardless, the Suns' management team seriously need to make one or two major acquisitions when the draft arrives, otherwise, we could be seeing them fall far down the ranks by the time we're gearing up for NBA 2K22 next year.
