By the looks of things, whichever team has Julius Erving and Allen Iverson on their roster is destined to success, as the duo both achieved greatness on the Brooklyn Nets (as the New York Nets) and Denver Nuggets respectively, as well as on the Philadelphia 76ers.
Split up two decades apart thanks to the era of Charles Barkley, Erving and Iverson both did sensational things as part of the 76ers - Erving, in particular, led the team to win the 1983 NBA championship. While they've struggled to properly come back since the loss of Iverson in 2006, the 76ers somehow remain at number four in terms of overall ratings in NBA 2K21. In this year's playoffs, for example, they were swept in four games by the Boston Celtics.
It's been a common saying throughout this list, but for the 76ers, they need to make some big changes when it comes to the draft on 20 November. Rumours of the team trading Joel Embiid for Russell Westbrook seem preposterous on paper, however, it could be easily lead to a franchise resurgence for the Philadelphia team. Embiid is a fine player in his own right, but he's certainly no Westbrook.
