New Pokémon Snap: 10 Things We Want To See
7. Incorporate Elements From Pokémon GO
To ensure New Pokémon Snap lives up to the hype, Nintendo should implement mechanics from other games in the franchise. Now, the main Pokémon series focuses on fighting, which isn't applicable for a photography game. But there are certain features they can be taken from Pokémon GO.
When Pokémon GO was announced, it sounded like a dream come true. A game that centres on the player walking around to capture virtual Pokémon in real-life locations fulfilled every Pokéfan's fantasy.
But after players completed their Pokédex, interest in Niantic's cash-cow started to wane. To maintain interest, the company added many features, including missions and daily objectives. If you a visit a gym on consecutive days, you get extra points. If you capture five rock-based Pokémon, you can unlock collectables, and so on.
Incorporating objectives into New Pokémon Snap would be a great way to avoid the gameplay becoming stagnant. You could have daily missions like "Snap Five Zubats" or "Snap A Slowpoke Eating An Apple". When the objective feature was included into Pokémon GO, the game had a significant rise in players. Now that Nintendo knows this concept works, they should insert it into New Pokémon Snap from the get-go.
