New Pokémon Snap: 10 Things We Want To See

4. Online Options

Nintendo

One question that's on everyone's minds is how New Pokémon Snap is going to utilise online options. The Virtual Console of Pokémon Snap allowed players to send pictures taken in the game to their friends. Due to the capabilities of the Switch, Nintendo can go a lot further than that.

Because there are rumours of a multiplayer option, it would be cool to play against others online. There could be a challenge mode so you and other players could navigate through a level together to compete for the most points.

Now, New Pokémon Snap is being developed by Nintendo and Bandai Namco Studios Inc.; the same team who made Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Similar to Ultimate, winning online challenges could let the player unlock artwork, upgrades, or currency, which would encourage friendly competition. There could also be a leaderboard where players rate each others photographs, much like the rating system in the Super Mario Maker series.

The potential online options seem boundless but Nintendo is keeping mum about details so all we can do is wait and see what they come up with.
