New Pokémon Snap: 10 Things We Want To See

3. Pokémon Interaction

As you traverse through Pokémon Island, you don't have to worry about being incinerated by dragons or legendary beasts because you travel in the ZERO-ONE - an all-terrain vehicle that can withstand any attack.

But just because the island's inhabitants can't harm you doesn't mean they can't impair your trip. As you are preparing to take the perfect picture, Pokémon could limit your sight with ice, mud, slime, or smoke. Psychics and ghosts could use their powers to invert the controls, slow down your movements, or freeze you in place. The ZERO-ONE may be indestructible but powerhouses like Machamp or Incineroar could slow your vehicle down or stop it dead in its tracks.

Another great way for Pokémon to interact with the environment is through Dynamaxing, a mechanic introduced in Sword/Shield that increases Pokemon's size exponentially. Imagine Dynamaxing a Wailord until it's so big, it can create a tsunami which can wash away Pokemon, giving you a limited time to take a picture. A Dynamaxed Torterra could become so humongous, it could generate an earthquake that could collapse areas, opening new paths. Dynamaxing was the highlight of Sword/Shield so it would be fantastic to see it implemented in the rest of the series.
