New Pokémon Snap: 10 Things We Want To See
2. Item Variety
There were three items to use in Pokémon Snap: you could throw Pester Balls to flush Pokemon out of their hiding spots or to stun them, you could use apples to lure them out, and you could play the flute to wake up sleeping Pokémon or make them dance.
No new items were seen in the New Pokémon Snap trailer but it's a safe bet the game will have a much larger variety of collectables. You could have a range of food, forcing you to try and find the right one to lure out Pokémon. A certain berry might work on one critter but not the other. Similar to the Ocarina or the Wind Waker in the Zelda series, you could manually play a specific tune on the Flute to make nearby Pokémon perform certain actions.
You could use an item that could momentarily slow down or freeze a specific creature in place, giving you ample time to set up a shot. Items like this could be considered overpowered so they should be rare or expensive so the player will be forced to strategise when and where to use them.
