Nintendo Labo Explained: 9 Things You Need To Know
2. How Does It Work: The Motorbike
If - like me - you had one of those one-off, Sega Outrun "fake-car-dashboard-for-kids-with-a-wheel-and-gear-stick" things, the Labo Motorbike is essentially a modern reincarnation/version of that.
A bit easier to get your head around (hopefully by now you've accepted the Joy-Con's IR beam can detect all sorts of amazing things to bring many concepts to life), the Motorbike software renders a first-person ride on the tablet, leaving the Joy-Cons as stand-ins for handling, acceleration and braking.
The left Joy-Con handles braking as you'll push a small tab in to activate buttons and the analogue stick, with the right inside a rotating chamber, letting you accelerate with a greater degree of fidelity. It also seems Nintendo have factored a handbrake into the equation with the protruding red handle, as pulling down on this with your index finger would press the right Joy-Con's shoulder buttons.
They really have thought of everything.
