Nintendo NX: 10 Wishlist Rumours That Must Come True
5. Play Games For My Nintendo Points And Get Real Rewards
Remember when Microsoft introduced Gamerpoints and Gamerscore to the 360, and how we all thought that was some form of currency that could then be redeemed for actual products? Just play more games, unlock more achievements and cash them in on more games - simple!
Oh, how wrong we were, but how right it could be for Nintendo, who after shutting down Club Nintendo (a service that gave you points mostly for making purchases) started up My Nintendo, which operates on a 'Silver Reward' and 'Gold Reward' system to give discounts on software.
The missing ingredient is twofold: 1. Fans have asked for the doling out of gold and silver coins to relate to more than just discounts on other content (as you're spending a TON of cash before getting any return), and 2. For said coins to come from in-game achievements/milestones, so the more you play, the more you're working towards a sizeable discount or maybe an entire game for free.
