Nintendo Switch: 10 Improvements It STILL Needs

3. Virtual Console

The Nintendo Wii launched in 2006, bringing with it a turning-point in gaming: the Virtual Console. This allowed players to purchase and play games from past Nintendo consoles, like the SNES and N64. This virtual store was extremely well received by players and made it's way to the 3DS and Wii U. So why haven't they tried to emulate this on the Switch?

That's a tricky question. Nintendo has a paid online service you can access that gives players a choice of games from the NES and SNES libraries at no extra cost. While that is great, the old Virtual Console offered games from several different console families. Yes, you had to pay for the games, but they were fairly inexpensive and only required you to have one console hooked up.

With the release of Super Mario 3D All-Stars, Nintendo has shown that the Switch is capable of emulating games from the N64, Gamecube, and Wii. Nintendo needs to bring back the original Virtual Console, and add support for all their previous consoles. Being able to access your favourite games of old, and at low prices, would be a huge win for Nintendo and nostalgia.

Just make sure to definitely include Gamecube games, please.
