Nintendo Switch: 10 Painfully Obvious Ports We're STILL Waiting For
3. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Put simply, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is one of Nintendo's most underrated games in all the company's history. Working off an already great foundation with its predecessor, TTYD improved on literally everything from Paper Mario. Each combat encounter had more decisions to make, the story went in darker, more interesting places, and the writing was fine-tuned to comedic, meta perfection.
Throughout the game, there are so many great character interactions, boss battles, and in-game choices that allow you to personalize each playthrough. Add in lovable companions and vibrant, unique worlds full of personalities to meet, then you've got an idea of what's available to you when jumping into this great title.
Unfortunately, out of all the Mario spinoff series that Nintendo has put out, it seems that Paper Mario is one they've been moving away from, particularly this style of RPG experience. However, with a new Paper Mario released on Wii-U and a port of this title not exactly needing much work done to it (thanks to its impeccably-aged art style), it wouldn't require much to get it on Switch.
For one of Nintendo's greatest underrated gems, The Thousand-Year Door deserves a second chance.
