Nintendo Switch: 10 Third-Party Franchises We Need To See
4. Fantasy Life
Why Nintendo insists on continuing to withhold Animal Crossing games from their consoles is beyond me. And no, that trifling little party game on the Wii U doesn't count as an Animal Crossing game anymore than Metroid Prime: Federation Force does as Samus' long-awaited return.
Thankfully, the folks at developer Level-5 cooked up a suitable pinch-hitter a few years back: Fantasy Life. This isn't a review, so I'll give you the short version: Fantasy Life, released for 3DS in 2014, is basically Animal Crossing with a dollop of Zelda and a dash of the grind and customization you'd expect from an MMORPG, if you can believe it. It has online co-op, bosses to fight, dungeons to loot, houses to furnish and meals to cook. It is most definitely a grind but it's also quite a lot of fun, and a Switch-ready installment would be just lovely.
At the very least, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better application for the Switch's portability.
