Nintendo Switch: 15 GameCube Games That Must Be On Virtual Console
7. F-Zero GX
F-Zero GX did precisely the same as Metroid Prime: offered superb gameplay and sublime graphics.
The gorgeous graphics were provided by SEGA’s av team who’d also created the excellent Super Monkey Ball. Then there was the soaring soundtrack which admittedly didn’t quite top the wailing metal guitars of F-Zero X but still worked well. And finally there was the speed. So much speed.
An absolutely phenomenally fast game that
gave very little room for error, F-Zero GX pleased fans because it was so demanding. Analogue triggers gave cornering a new feel
and the less rigid GameCube analogue stick gave great feedback to the
player. Controls were responsive to the
point that it was always your fault if you did screw up a corner and go sailing
towards a fiery death.
Another Nintendo franchise that has gone dormant: here’s hoping that there’s life in the old futuristic racer yet! Fast Racing Neo proves Nintendo fans want more F-Zero so here’s hoping this will make it to the eShop on Switch. (Or, better yet, we get a new F-Zero on the Switch!)
