Nintendo Switch Pro: Everything You Need To Know
2. Specs
There have been rumors abound when it comes to the specs of the Nintendo Switch Pro, including improved resolution, better battery life and more computing power.
Whilst we have nothing concrete yet, the Bloomberg report found that the company is looking into "4K high-definition graphics", which would put the console on par with the iterative counterparts of the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. It's likely that the Switch Pro would only run at a 4K resolution when docked, similar to how the current model outputs 720p in handheld mode, and 1080p whilst docked.
The strive for better battery life is also very likely, considering that for many gamers, the Switch is primarily a handheld device. When the Switch Lite model launched last year it improved on the base Switch's average of 2.5-6.5 hours with an expected life of 3-7 hours. They even trumped that with the new Switch model, which clocks in at an average of 4.5-9 hours.
Back in October 2019, a 4chan post 'leaked' an extremely detailed list of specifications for the new hardware, and although the contents of the post haven't been verified, some of the specifications have lined up with these most recent rumors.
Other specs stated in the post included four USB ports compared to the one on the current model, as well as 64gb of internal memory, which is double that of the original. It's worth taking this now deleted post with a grain of salt however, as it also stated the Pro would be a TV-only model, which would be a very strange move for the currently hybrid console.
