She teaches Amaterasu the Veil of Mist brush technique, slowing down time while still allowing you to move normally. This becomes extremely useful in timing-based puzzles throughout the game, even during combat it can be used to find an enemy’s weakness.

All good things have a limit however, and you cannot always use this ability when you see fit. Certain challenges in the game won’t allow you to use it, even though it makes the quest much easier.

The upgrade for Veil of Mist is known as Mist Warp, which is obtained through the simple act of purchasing the Fog Pot from the Emperor. Mist Warp allows the player to teleport between the large Ultimate Origin Mirrors, which are found relatively frequently throughout the game.

Traversing the world with Mist Warp is much easier, giving the player far more opportunities to return to previous locations for secret rewards.

While not the most dangerous technique out there, Veil of Mist and Mist Warp are extremely useful.
