3. Moegami: Inferno

Inferno is taught to Amaterasu by the rooster-esque phoenix god Moegami, who is depicted carrying a smoking pipe. The brush technique Inferno allows the player to draw a line from a fire source to either an enemy to deal massive damage or something in the room that needs to be melted.

Inferno is an extremely useful tool in combat, especially considering you obtain this technique right before entering Kamui which is an entirely snow and ice region of Nippon. Not only will this deal great damage on normal enemies, any ice-based enemies will take double that damage making it deadly.

The upgrade for Inferno is known as Fireburst, and it creates a giant ball of fire that damages all nearby enemies. Although it takes up a lot of ink to use, it deals high amounts of damage to nearby enemies, making it extremely useful in combat.

You obtain this upgrade through a side quest in Taka Pass and Sei’an City, which is not terribly complicated or difficult.

Inferno is not as helpful outside of combat until you enter Kamui, using it to complete ice-based puzzles throughout the snowy land.

Inferno is definitely one of the deadliest brush techniques in Okami, and Kamui would be much more difficult without it.
