Okami: Ranking The 13 Celestial Brush Gods And Their Powers From Worst To Best
12. Yumigami: Crescent
Yumigami is the goddess of the moon, being depicted in the
game as a rabbit holding a large red mallet. She teaches you the brush
technique Crescent, which allows the player to change the time of day to
nighttime by drawing a backwards āCā in the sky.
This technique is found as the opposite to the already acquired Sunrise technique, and is frankly not too useful. Even in the final boss fight with Yami, using Crescent summons forth a large spirit of Susano who slices him in half.
While epic, this is not what it does any other time in the game, forcing the developers to find a cool reason to use it in the final fight.
The technique is not vital to the game, but it can be helpful for certain scenarios. Certain monsters featured on the Wanted Lists you receive will only show up at night, and more Demon Scrolls spawn at night.
This means that when you are attempting to farm for yen, or for demon fangs, you are more likely to keep using crescent in order to keep the area in nighttime. Outside of this purpose however, it is not used very frequently, and you will find yourself mostly forgetting about it.
