7. The Creature In The Ceiling

Later on in the school, it'll start to appear that some other unfortunate soul is trapped in there with you. This poor person seems to be in even greater danger, and the screams of the little girl will lead you out into a corridor where you'll then see her hanging from a mysterious void in the ceiling.

Examining this thing will show you only a cloud of black smoke and a collection of fingers clawing at its edge. You'll look more closely, edging yourself nearer and nearer as you try not to attract the attention of whatever's inside. Ultimately you'll become convinced that something's coming out of the void, but that's when Outlast 2 really gets you.

After some time you'll be satisfied that nothing's coming through and will turn your attention to the door directly underneath. Opening this will yield nothing at first, but suddenly a psychopathic figure will lurch from the darkness and hurl you to the floor. The fact that this happens so quickly wrenches you out of your false sense of security and will likely leave you hammering the pause button so you can gasp for breath.
