Overwatch 2: 13 Things We Learned From Blizzconline
2. New Hero Looks
The new designs for other characters in the game were revealed during this preview, with Widowmaker, Reaper, McCree and Pharah getting their upgraded designs. Previous characters who were shown off with their new designs in Blizzcon 2019 were Genji, Mei, Reinhardt and Tracer, and Torbjorn has been seen on the fringes of new design lineups enough for people to have a good idea of his appearance in Overwatch 2.
Their original designs were altered to retain their silhouettes while also updating their looks, from Reaper's look becoming more grey than white, and Widow's look looking a bit more streamlined, her hair getting a fantastic braid to replace her original ponytail.
McCree gets a new arm to replace his older mechanical one, and better duds, while Pharah doesn't change much beyond taking on Overwatch colours, and her visor becoming transparent.
Another update was given to the characters's face rigs. Given that much of Overwatch 2's story will be told through more in-game cinematics, the in-game face rigs are being given an upgrade to make the transition between gameplay and cinematic much smoother.
This means that character expressions will be much more readable and natural in the game than ever before.
