Overwatch Halloween Terror 2018: Ranking Every Skin

Can’t imagine the design team took too long here. Giving the spider lady a spider costume? It’s Halloweeny, but that is a seriously low bar for a Halloween skin.

It’s above Doomfist purely by the virtue that despite its extreme laziness, it does look vaguely cool. Nowhere near as cool as Florida Mayhem, Nova or Côte d’Azur, but cool nonetheless. It’s just a shame that again, it’s wasted potential.

Widowmaker is one of the Overwatch characters most suited to Halloween; why they lowballed her with an epic skin instead of giving her a much more ambitious legendary is anyone’s guess.

She seems perfect for the femme fatale angle. Halloween is known for its spookiness, but there’s a fun vibrancy to it. Seeing a Widowmaker skin following this pathway might have been better received than just sticking spiderwebs on her legs. When your design for a skin on a globally popular shooter takes the same attitude as a burnt out teacher taping webs to classroom walls, you know you’re doing something wrong.

Any fans of Widowmaker will likely have a better skin than this in their roster anyway.
