Overwatch Halloween Terror 2018: Ranking Every Skin
7. Pharah - Enchanted Armour
Pharah’s Halloween skin suffers from a similar problem to the two proceeding it. None of them feel particularly in tune with their characters, and as a result feel like downgrades, especially when compared to the best skins Pharah, Doomfist and Widowmaker have to offer. Last year’s Possessed wasn’t amazing either, but it was better.
Considering that they’ve pretty much removed Pharah from this skin altogether, there’s no real surprise it’s lacking personality. That’s a nice twist at least, but it’s a twist in the same way it’d be a twist if you booked tickets for Metallica and Taylor Swift came on stage. It isn’t bad, necessarily, but it certainly isn’t what you’ve paid for. It’s a Pharah skin with no Pharah, at the end of the day.
Strangely, as other skins indicate too, the armour seems to hold Pharah back from a creativity perspective. With it being such a huge part of her image, most skins are just palette changes. At least this one thinks outside the box in all fairness.
Climbs above Doomfist and Widowmaker because having it collapse as if empty when the player dies is a nifty little feature.
