5. Rivers In The Desert - Persona 5

Embarrassing confession time - thanks to Persona 5's turn-based combat, when I heard this song for the first time I stopped fighting during one of my turns so I could get up and dance to it.

I couldn't help myself, and I suspect I'm not the only one. "Rivers in the Desert" is, simply, a damn fine track.

From the opening guitar riff, to the simmering intensity of the vocals and the explosive, imploring tones of the chorus, "Rivers in the Desert" is the best boss battle theme since "One Winged Angel".

Or it would have been, if the next song hadn't gotten there first.
