2. Improved PlayStation Eye
Remember that small, rectangular box which sat on the top of your TV and plugged into the PlayStation 2 USB port to create a colour digital camera? The EyeToy was released in the October of 2003 and I remember the first game for it - EyeToy: Play - being a huge hit. The Window Washing game, "Wishi Washi," was a family favourite for some bizarre reason. From this strength, Sony produced the successors of the EyeToy, the PlayStation Eye. This was launched in 2007 for the PlayStation 3, and basically did more of the same but better, and had a microphone built in. The next step was the launch of PlayStation Move in 2010, which was only compatible with the PlayStation Eye, bringing greater control and accuracy to the Eye. Rumour has it that the February 20th Meeting could also see the next, improved version of the Eye being announced. Motion controlled gaming has been a significant element of the PlayStation experience for the past ten years and I see no reason Sony would stop now.
