PlayStation 5: 8 Rumours & Details You Need To Know
5. Death Stranding And The Last Of Us Part 2 Could Be Cross-Generation
Despite Sony coming dangerously close to self-sabotaging its E3 briefing with surreal live music segments and time-wasting venue shifts, its core purpose - the games - kept the hype flowing for an otherwise bemused audience.
Death Stranding, The Last of Us Part 2, Ghost of Tsushima and Spider-Man all played their part in continuing Sony's streak of fantastic exclusives but besides Spidey's first good-looking video game outing in forever, none of the titles showcased came attached with a release date, specific or otherwise.
Kojima Productions, Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch's latest efforts respectively all splashed themselves on screen, stole the breath away from onlookers and dissolved away without so much as a hint for when they're intended to arrive, leading many to speculate that each is projected for launch beyond next year.
If that's true, and Sony is aiming for 2020 as the earliest possible date to release the PS5, then Spider-Man and Days Gone could well be the final two exclusives in the works for the company's current-gen platform.
Alternatively, the close timing could lead to all three being cross-generational releases, as was the case with the original TLOU.
