PlayStation Showcase: 10 Games We Could See

1. Ghost Of Tsushima 2

With both a hugely successful release in 2020 and a subsequent director's cut release a year later, Ghost of Tsushima was certainly an unexpected success for PlayStation. With over 10 million sales as of this point and plenty of critical acclaim to boot, Sony won’t be squandering this opportunity for a potential franchise. Now it seems a sequel is all but confirmed thanks to some not-so-subtle, now deleted, job listings by Sucker Punch (via Tech4Gamers).

A multitude of listings from 2020 for various roles include such requirements as a candidate who "must have played Ghost of Tsushima and understand its core game play systems", and another looking for "someone that’s worked on an action or stealth title and has experience of working on a game focused on melee and/or stealth, as well as open world encounter design."

If that wasn’t blatant enough, another listing sought someone "to write stories ‘set in feudal Japan’ and who have ‘an interest or familiarity with traditional Japanese culture and aesthetic". Among this, there’s even a tongue-in-cheek request for experience in "working closely with ‘ninjas in other disciplines", They're not even trying to hide it. Another interesting thing to note is that Sucker Punch is also looking to hire a senior multiplayer systems designer, hinting at more potential multiplayer elements or another addition like the Legends mode of the original game.

Now that it's been three years since the original release of the first entry, it's not too far-fetched to assume the game could be revealed soon. If one thing is for certain, however, Ghost of Tsushima 2 is an inevitability, so much so that even the developers can seem to keep it to themselves, it simply being a case of where and when it’ll be unveiled.
