Pokémon: Every Gen 1 Game Ranked
4. Pocket Monsters Blue
Pocket Monsters Blue is different from the western Pokémon Blue, don't worry, we'll get to the Red and Blue we got in the west in a bit.
After the huge success of Pocket Monsters Red and Green, a third Japan-exclusive version was made to fix many of the bugs found in the first two games. The game also changed all the Pokémon front sprites to be less horrific and changed up the layout of Cerulean Cave.
Whilst, Pocket Monsters Blue is technically a better game than Red and Green due to its many changes Blue does seem a bit like a cash grab. It was released less than a year after the first two versions. It must have felt a bit weird to buy a game just to have the definitive version come out less than a year later begging for your money.
It's not even like Pocket Monsters Blue allowed you to catch more Pokémon than in the first two games, there are 11 missing Pokémon here just like there is in the previous two entries with the missing 'mons here being Ekans, Arbok, Vulpix, Ninetales, Mankey, Primeape, Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Victreebel, Electabuzz, and Magmar.
