Pokemon Sun And Moon: 10 Things Fans Demand
7. More Secret Areas
I've beaten this drum considerably, but one of Pokemon's greatest assets is how much of it opens up after the story finishes. New training areas, new opponents, new features; the game is considerably more than merely the tale it tells.
But it needs more. Far away caves with ultra-rare Pokemon in it, secret trainers or "unofficial gyms" hidden atop mountains, one-of-a-kind items buried deep in a forrest, Pokemon not only needs to recapture that feeling of exploring the unknown, but needs to offer players big rewards for doing so.
What we've seen of the the Alola region has, thus far, consisted of one small island. If that's the whole area that the game is set in then it's not only the smallest so far, but hugely underwhelming. More likely it's merely one island in an archipelago or sorts, and cross between them will be a major gameplay mechanic. If that's true then the scope for other islands to be dotted around the place is huge, all with varying ways of accessing them and differing landscapes.
Here's one. Since they won't need to be directly connected to the overall map (because seas and oceans), why don't Nintendo open up some sort of ferry service to a new island every few weeks. Having new Pokemon to catch and new trainers to battle every so often would give the game nearly limitless longevity.
