Ever since Game Freak's Tsunekazu Ishihara revealed that a core entry in the RPG series would be coming to Switch, neither they or Nintendo have been drawn on when, exactly, the series' departure from its handheld roots would arrive. Ishihara himself stated that it might not arrive for more than a year, but that only really rules out a launch within the first six months of 2018, leaving its ETA up in the air.

We're still frustratingly unaware of just how far along in development the next quest to Catch 'Em All is, but a few recent discoveries - namely a survey sent out by Ninty last month asking Switch owners which games they're most looking forward to playing in 2018 - point to it being in the latter stages of development.

'Pokémon-RPG' sits right at the bottom of the list. Not concrete proof, of course, but an indication that Ninty's at least aiming for a launch before 2019 rolls around.

As for the other hint: Several job listings on The Pokémon Company's corporate website are seeking localization editors for unmentioned products, with the positions due to begin in June and end in December at the absolute latest. Assuming the role is for Pokémon Switch, the contractual work fits in nicely with a supposed Christmas launch date.
