Pokémon Sword & Shield: Ranking Every New Pokémon So Far

5. Corviknight

Alcremie Pokemon
Nintendo

Corviknight has gained a lot of fans already, and is shaping up to be one of the most popular regional birds yet. Not since Staraptor in Generation IV have we been treated to a Flyer like this.

Initially it seemed Corviknight wasn’t going to be the regional bird at all, with Game Freak describing it as one of the region’s most powerful ‘mons.

People took this to believe it would be encountered late on, but with its continued presence in the trailers and no other Flying types revealed, it’s looking more and more likely that it is, in fact, going to be Galar’s representative alongside Pidgeot, Swellow and Talonflame.

This means it’s likely the final form of a two or three stage line, which could see it being caught very early on. If that’s the case, expect Corviknight to in a lot of teams early doors.

The medieval design mixed with raven/crow features is perfectly on point for British inspiration as well. While other regional birds don’t seem to link up, Corviknight certainly does.

It’s yet another ‘mon we’ve seen go Giga too, but despite finishing above Alcremie, it doesn’t seem to add a lot of flair when in this new form.
