Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

2. Master League UI Can Be Messy And Difficult To Navigate

There's plenty to celebrate when it comes to PES' own take on Career Mode, but the menu UI certainly isn't one of them.

While Konami have made a clear effort to tidy things up and make everything a little more navigable, the sheer array of boxes and menus can get pretty discombobulating pretty quickly.

In this case, PES' commitment to detail actually ends up being a double-edged sword. Players are able to taylor so many aspects of their own team and managerial career pretty much to their heart's content, but it's a difficult thing to juggle in practice.

There's a lot of text, a lot of variables, and while it's not impenetrable by any means, it's easy to see how it could be off-putting to those more accustomed to the stylish and accessible tiles that've been commonplace in FIFA over the last several entries.
