Did you know that Bond uses gadgets? It's true.

It's obvious to see why gadgets are so appealing in the world of video games, they're fun to use and in figuring out the best ways to use them. Sadly, Craig's Bond didn't go in for the gizmos, that much, which is a huge omission. Bond games all traditionally have had gadgets, but most just let you use them in context-sensitive moments: a laser watch to open a specific weak spot here, and a grappling hook for special icons there, as well as glasses that alter the player's vision. Back in the day, it was down to the limitations of the hardware.

Agent 47 can lay all sorts of traps with explosives and poisons. Sam Fisher can use all sorts of surveillance apparatus to get the edge on enemies, and nowadays every hero and his mother has grappling hooks to aide them in a stealth game, just ask Batman.

It's time to let players choose the tools they want and see what innovative ways they can utilise them to accomplish their missions.
