PS2 Mini: 20 Games It MUST Include
14. Ratchet And Clank: Up Your Arsenal
Helmed by Insomniac Games, a studio whose recent success with the Spider-Man franchise has propelled them back into the spotlight, Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal was one of the best platformers on a console that brought gamers such genre titans as Psychonauts, Ape Escape 2, and the Sly Cooper series.
The Ratchet and Clank games were consistently praised for their iconic hardware-pushing visuals, and it would be lovely to see these natively rendered in 1080p on a new mini console. What’s more, the multiplayer in Up Your Arsenal was bar-none, though it didn’t receive all that much attention in its heyday thanks to the PS2’s relatively meager online multiplayer functionalities.
It would be amazing to see this title and it’s multiplayer component be revived on a PlayStation 2 Classic, and getting to relive the underrated PvP component would alone be worth the price of admission. That said, it’s hard to know if Sony would be willing to go the extra mile and include online functionality given how undercooked the first PlayStation Classic felt.
Either way, few hardcore Sony fans are going to turn up a chance to once again thwart the evil Dr. Nefarious.
