PS4: 10 Features Sony Must Implement In The Next Firmware Update

2. Appearing Offline

Although the advent of social media has created the assumption that we all want everyone else to know what we're doing at all times, occasionally you just want to do the opposite. Let us appear offline and away from all the potential notifications that come with being ever-present on your friends' lists. It's easily done too, as in addition simply set up a 'green list' of those people you don't mind letting through, or create 'no go' zones for notifications like cut-scenes, boss battles or DVDs etc. in the dashboard. At the very least if you're intent on pushing this forced 'social presence' down our throats give us a slew of visual options for how they manifest, as something like an Android-style bar that drops from the top of the screen and tells you relevant information would be better than what's available right now.
