PS4: 10 Missing PlayStation Franchises That Must Return
7. Ape Escape
Ape Escape is one of those PlayStation franchises that never really got the attention it deserved. Despite being iconic to the platform, there hasn't been a new Ape Escape game in years.
Considering the recent rise in platforming games like Ratchet and Clank or Crash Bandicoot, it seems like the perfect time that more obscure franchises like Ape Escape make their return too. The last time we got to see Ape Escape was in 2011 with a spin-off PlayStation Move title, which definitely doesn't show off what Ape Escape can do.
If we're going to see the return of the monkey-capturing platformer, we definitely need to see a more traditional gameplay style. Relying on platforming and exploring is what made the original game great, so that's hopefully what a new title would focus on.
The most important thing that needs to return in Ape Escape is the sense of humour. Not many games nowadays have the same level of quirk that the series does and that's a big reason why it needs to return.
