3. Sony Will Make Sure The Price Is Reasonable
Sony are never going to forget how easily they became a laughing stock when it was announced at E3 2006 that their PlayStation 3 would launch its premium model for a whopping $599, a shockingly expensive figure that made both the Xbox 360 and Wii, both already on the market and firmly established, far more attractive prospects to most gamers. The PlayStation 3 struggled to snap up a solid market share for years, only really catching up to Microsoft in the last year or so, and again, hopefully Sony have learned their lesson this time. Though it's unlikely the PS4 is going to be
cheap, Sony seem confident that they will release a console that is competitively priced compared to the Xbox 360; most players won't mind paying a little more for a great console, but the expectation from most players is still that these companies should take the hit now for future gains, rather than rinse consumers of exorbitant start-up costs.
