Xbox may have its Halo and Gears of War, but what did the PlayStation have?
That's right, Killzone and Resistance!
...alright, that sounds weak in terms of franchise power, but that doesn't mean they were slouches.
Resistance was Insomniac's foray into first-person shooters on the PS3, going on to spawn two sequels, as well as two Vita titles. Critically and commercially, the franchise was a strong one for Sony.
Sadly, it's been eight years since a Resistance title, with Insomniac saying that they have no interest in making any more. Unhelpfully, Sony have declared no real interest in the brand either.
But come on, Sony.
There are fans who don't want to accept that fate. The resistance for more Resistance, if you will. Who will rise up and... keep petitioning on forums for more titles. Or even a remastered package of the main console trilogy, that'll tide us over too.
What with Killzone all quiet on the Helghan front, why not look at a series that carried a strong narrative and great shooting?
