PS5: 10 Iconic PlayStation Franchises Sony Needs To Revive
7. Suikoden
Chances are, when you hear "Suikoden", you fall into two camps: you've either never heard of it, or you're one of those hipsters who will argue that it's better than some of the bigger JRPG's.
I'm marginally in the latter (only because I can't be bothered to argue) who holds Suikoden II as one of the greatest RPG's of all time.
A mostly-Sony staple (barring a couple of non-essential Nintendo "spin offs" and PC ports), the Suikoden series has been quiet for a staggering fourteen years. Suikoden V on the PS2 being the last main entry, which scored well critically.
What with Dragon Quest still flying the flag for the JRPG standard, as well as the Final Fantasy VII Remake, where's the harm in bringing back this niche series?
A series that focuses on politics and warring states (with magic, too. It's not that boring) and focuses on artistic flourishes over realistic graphics, it's due a resurgence.
The fan base is there, what with I & II getting the PSN treatment back in 2014 and III finally getting a PAL release a year later.
What better time to recruit another 108 Stars of Destiny?
